Victim
Offender Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process through
which victims are able to meet with their offender(s) in a monitored,
neutral environment. Two specially-trained volunteer mediators meet with
both the victim and offender for a number of sessions to help them
verbalize the impact of the crime and understand its repercussions. The
issue of restitution can also be addressed in mediation. The role of the
mediators is to provide guidance on the art of listening and
communicating, not to make recommendations or suggestions on how to
resolve the issues.
Community Mediation focuses on disputes between neighbors,
coworkers, and other inter-personal disputes. Public Policy and
Environmental Mediation services are also available.
Elders Mediation focuses on intra-family disputes concerning
elderly relatives.
Court Based Mediation includes Small-Claims Mediation, Marital
Mediation, and Post Divorce Mediation.
